My sister Jessica sent me this picture shortly after a bird tried to enter her office. I thought it was too funny not to post up.

Father’s Day

A father is a man who expects his son to be as good a man as he meant to be.
-Frank A. Clark

As for my father, he equipped me at a young age in many areas in life. Not only materially with what I needed to get by in life like food and clothing, but also with instruction and wisdom. Of course, I didn’t always heed the advice of dad, but a lot of what he said stuck with me through all these years. As Samuel Clemmons said, “When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” This rings very true, for so many years I didn’t really appreciate how much dad knew. This came from non stop studying for his writing I’m sure! Dad, I now can say that I really enjoy reading your stuff, and think I speak for the rest of the siblings when I say, “We’re looking forward to it being completed.”

Also I want to thank my Dad for getting a computer and some design software… Although it was a little high-end for the time, it got me well on the road to being who I am today. I still use some of the same software and a lot of the tools that were put into my hands early in life. Maybe Joel will pick up photography again, Julie… more piano perhaps? Jessica… hmm… not sure, maybe the tennis racket?
